Learn More About The Mill Creek Chamber of Commerce
The Mill Creek Chamber of Commerce has been serving the community since 1997 and is the action-oriented membership organization and business voice in the greater Mill Creek area. It works to promote a strong local economy; represent and advocate on behalf of business; provide opportunities to build relationships; and deliver programs to help business grow.
Over the last two decades, the business community has grown beyond a handful of retail and service shops, and has become more diverse. With growth come increased needs pertaining to a strong workforce, transportation and infrastructure, and advocacy. After serving as the Mill Creek Business Association for more than 20 years, the move to a Chamber of Commerce transpired on January 1, 2019. This new structure allows the organization to serve businesses in Mill Creek and the surrounding area.
In addition to advocacy and business support, the Chamber offers monthly member meetings and networking events to help businesses connect and thrive. The member meetings take place on the third Tuesday of each month and feature speakers geared toward providing professional insights to help businesses at all levels, such tax code change insights, operational efficiency, legislative impacts, work-life balance, sales and marketing and more.
Frequent network events are planned to help members make connections with other community resources. These events are held over the lunch hour or are “after hours.” The Chamber also hosts educational workshops in conjunction with the Mill Creek Library.
The Mill Creek Chamber of Commerce provides service to the business community by assisting the City with economic development outreach and initiatives, providing materials and visitor services to promote local tourism opportunities, and advocating for the needs of the business community with local government and other decision-making bodies.
The Chamber encourages community through events such as the Mill Creek Festival. This two-day event is the largest event in the City, welcoming more than 20,000 visitors to Mill Creek in mid-July. Businesses have an opportunity to engage with the community and showcase their goods and services. The event offers fun for the whole family. It includes three stages of live entertainment, local art booths, a children’s plaza and rides, a beer and wine garden with extended hours, commercial booths and a pet plaza. The Chamber also sponsors several community events, including Trunk or Treat, Party in the Parks and the Summer Concert Series.
Finally, the Chamber hosts an annual golf tournament at the Mill Creek Country Club. In addition to a great day of golfing and socializing, the event serves a community benefit. Funds raised by the Chamber support students through scholarships and assistance programs, and help support for other philanthropic endeavors.
