He has a bachelor’s degree in emergency readiness\nand response management and an associate degree in fire\nscience. \nAlong with fulfilling his duties as Fire Chief\, he also serves as the\nPresident of the Snohomish County Fire Chiefs Association. He is a\nmember of the Snohomish County Fire Training Consortium\nAdministrative Board and the Sno911 Governing Board. Chief\nHovis’s strong interest in educating and encouraging future\nfirefighters has led him to become a member of the North Seattle\nCollege Fire Science Program Advisory Board\, as well.

DESCRIPTION:The Mill Creek Chamber of Commerce is pleased to organize the annual Mill Creek Festival which welcomes upwards of 20\,000 people to the Mill Creek community one weekend each summer. \nSaturday July 15th and Sunday July 16th\, 2023! \nThe festival is a street fair\, closing a portion of Mill Creek Blvd. (behind Safeway) and heading up a portion of 161st (between Bank of America and Rite Aid). \nNo festival exhibitors or vendors are assigned a booth number until two weeks prior to the event when load-in packets are emailed to them. \nIf you are interested in finding a particular vendor when you visit the festival\, check at the information booth. Pizzeria in the Mill Creek Town Center for dinner on Tuesday\, June 4th. 20% of food sales from 3-8pm will benefit Girls on the Run of Snohomish County.While you’re there\, stop by the Banquet Room between 5-7:00pm and pick up your 5K race bib so you can skip the check-in line on 5K morning.
